Lunging and Line Driving Adventures

     Some of you might have those horses that are naturally tense in the back and have a hard time developing their back muscles. Super Kid is one of those, I don't know if she was taught the meaning of forward and down or long and low, but its a CONSTANT argument with us. Last year my mom being the smarty she is said to take the lunge line through the bit and clip it to the buckle on the saddle( that works if its a dressage saddle or you have long billets) You ask the horse to go out on the circle then every few strides tighten the line so their head moves just a little. Then release, and if you do it right they will start stretching out their backs. At the end of this video you can see her start to,after we focus a little bit better.

Anyway so we spent about 10 minutes doing this then about 10 minutes line driving. I love line driving, you can see what you horse looks like doing something, or getting a baby ready to ride. This is also a relatively new concept for Super Kid. Anyway we did shoulder and haunches in both sides, relatively pretty, trotted using our backs and in a frame. At this time I was half frozen and tired, so called it quits  but I took the reins and checked how soft we where in the mouth. We weren't a hard mouth pony !!! YAY!! 

    So after having probably two weeks off Super Kid was AWESOME! It's hopefully going to warm up and we can actually ride! 

     Show Update

Because Penny Oaks is like the week before I get out of school, we are still contemplating that show, but at this moment we are probably going to IEA show, aka we get to do a jog!!!! This will also be our second rated show, and hopefully we wont almost get eliminated by messing up the dressage test. 

Mud

    Nothing tires you out more than walking through mud up to our shins and getting mud everywhere -_-

Spring is ABOUTTT a month away!!

    Spring is about a month away,, YAY!!   Right now the sky is peeing frozen rain, and its COLD!   Tomorrow is supposed to be 50 something, then stay "warmer" AWESOME!!  
     Well I haven't updated in a while,,, whats happen,,,, nothing. I did go out at 10:30 last night to ride Rhyme, dedication right there. Then spent 10 minutes blow drying his fur that has been wet all day, his skin like to be like a giant zit at times, annoying and gross. Also road Super Kid, she was a turd,like always when we we go a few days without ridding.
    Soooo what do you do to keep your horses in shape-ish in the winter off season?

    No time to be a Debbie Downer now!!!!! I am possible going to Aiken, South Carolina for spring break!!!!!! GAHHH sooo excited!!! Maybe with Super Kid, maybe not, we don't know yet. I am soooo lucky to get this opportunity.

    So it's been awhile since I have posted. Well my last post wasn't exactly happy. But this one will be. I rode pony yesterday and she was AMAZING. Like full on bending when I asked, not throwing her head in the air, and cantering AWESOMELY!! I also lunged Rhyme and he was good, trot poles free lunged and did it all with no fuss, he's awesome, like always.

    Today I rode Super Kid with my mom. We went on a "relaxing, lets stretch and use our backs and be calm" It worked for a while, then we trotted, and canter, then almost got blown over by the wind. No freak out moments today. Then we went back into the arena and went over the back tube thing. I made stupid mistakes and dug her into it, then when I let her do whatever she took long spots, not that big of a deal because its under two feet, but still a bad habit.

I HATE Highschool

I hate highschool. Personally I would LOVE to get a writting prompt and write it the way I want with no limitations. I write soooo much better without limitations.

2012 review

Soooo because my life is COMPLETELY BORING and I HATE RIDDING IN THE COLD. We going to have a review over the past year!!! YAY!!
         We didn't show much this year. Only one show which was Leg Up horse trials. We didn't do vary well. Dressage we kicked butt in, 33.2 was the score and put us in third. After cross country we had a few refusals and sometime faults. We didn't place in the top ten ):

ANYWAYYY these where all snipped from video's that is why they are so blurry. We had a good 2012 and this year will be even better I hope. Something VARY exciting might be happening to Super Kid and I this year, lets hope it all works out!!! 

It WAS warm

    OMG 

It's halfway warm. AHHH!!! Fall, spring and early summer are my favorite. I hate sweating non-stop, flies and it being hot all the time. Being in Indiana its HOT in the summer. BUT IT HAS RAINED A TONNNN. Since 6 tonight. All yesterday. The ground is overflowing.  But I get in a good ride. We took it easy since super kid is a little hot or ate something she is allergic too because she was a little short of breath. Any way just trotted long and low around the field in OUR NEW JUMP SADDLE. Welll it's new to us. Its a used wintec jumping saddle, with the cair system in it. I'm pretty sold on it, felt awesome on her.
