It WAS warm

    OMG
It's halfway warm. AHHH!!! Fall, spring and early summer are my favorite. I hate sweating non-stop, flies and it being hot all the time. Being in Indiana its HOT in the summer. BUT IT HAS RAINED A TONNNN. Since 6 tonight. All yesterday. The ground is overflowing.  But I get in a good ride. We took it easy since super kid is a little hot or ate something she is allergic too because she was a little short of breath. Any way just trotted long and low around the field in OUR NEW JUMP SADDLE. Welll it's new to us. Its a used wintec jumping saddle, with the cair system in it. I'm pretty sold on it, felt awesome on her.

Poor Rhyme

Having six horses of different ages ( Super Kid is turning 13, Arrow is 9, Blitzen is 8, Rhyme and Irmi are 5 and Bop is 3) everyone gets some. We feed Safe Choice, in different amounts with VitaLife and electrolytes.  We also have two stalls but those are saved for bad bad weather or shows. We stand and watch everyone to make sure they all eat there's and nobody steals.
But poor Rhyme has no mean bone in his body. Bop bit him the other day and it affected him. He of course didn't bite her back, but has kept his distance from her. He wont come up the the rest of them to eat. Pooorrrr Rhyme.  So now he gets feed in the corner where there is a break from the wind and stuff.
I also think he might be having a growth spurt because lately he's been more cranky and has lost some weight, not a lot but some. He's about 16.1 now but looks SOOO MUCH TALLER because he has a high neck set(thanks to welsh cob sire). And a dam who is part TB\Dutch WB (Limerick). So no doubt his is a tall horse.

Winter Work is BORING

The winter off season is about halfway over. YAY!!!  Then shows get back underway. I'm looking at now is a local schooling combined training show for Rhyme, just to get him out and about. Super Kid might have to wait until I get out of school for the year(then Senior Year!!). Or until early may for Penny Oaks horse trials.
So as soon as the ground is unfrozen we are starting back up on conditioning. Last year Super Kid was in her best physical shape I have gotten her in. At Leg Up we only had a few time penalties but we had refusals( first jumpitis, me being dumb about ditches).
The state has made the land around where I live a park, but there is a certain hill down the road from me that is PERFECT for hill trot sets. It is literally RIGHT down the road from me, how could I ignore it?!

This is our video from Leg Up 2012, now that I look at it I have NO IDEA how we got a 33.3, we didn't go into our corners, she was glaceing against me the whole time,  generally being a complete turd. I'm just going to say that they where won over by her cuteness and Lipizzanness( she is part Lippy, her dad is part Holstiner Lipizzan) So this year we have to work on our dressage at competitions, listening to our rider, not being a turd

If you'r sick and you hate it clap your hands ( claps)

I HATE being sick. First of all, I'm hardly EVER sick, when I do get sick its bad.  I woke up yesterday and could barely talk and was all stuffed up. Today I woke up and it felt like I got hit in the face with a brick. Sinuses I HATE you.
Anyway Super Kid got line drove yesterday for the first time I believe. I had my mom help me because she is really good at it. Once Kid understood what I was asking she didn't throw to big of a fit. We accomplished a shoulder in  on both sides and haunches out on both. This year maybe we will venture into the dressage ride for a test or two, just to see how we do ya'know. I already know that I'm going to take Rhyme to a few low key shows for his first show, and Irmi to, but I doubt that either of them will give us any problem.

Lunging the beast in the indoor ( there are monsters in here mom!!)

A few years ago my mom decided that she was going to get a Menards Pole Barn kit and build it with the help of this guy that lives around here that does work like that. Anyway its a small indoor, with big windows and energy saving lights ( my reguest, and they are warm light not the nasty blue light)
Super Kid has NEVER been a fan of this indoor, what I mean by this is every winter I fall off about two times or more from her spooking to get away from the monsters. Crazy mare. Yesterday when I got home from work I decided I was going to lung her, get her to stretch out her top-line, yadda yadda. Well Irmi was in there so we where fine, but as soon as Irmi left, Super Kid says " nope done working, i'm going to be a crazy mare and trot around with giraffe neck"  Awesome, we don't need that. I took her back to a walk and did spirals in and out both sides then called it quite.  We never get much done in there, always have to start with a 10 min lunge warm-up.
I'm looking down at he, but look at that trot!
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened to her if she wasn't bred at three, and went into training. I probably wouldn't have her, she might even be at Rolex (thats how talented she is, but she got a tendon injury b4 I got her)
Two years ago at our first recognized even, BN jumps are too  small

Snowman, a horse that inspired a nation.

Harry showing off his " I can ride with no hands"
For Christmas I got " the Eighty-Dollor Champion" a story about the famous jumper Snowman. If you want to read a summery of it go to Flying Solo's blog about it  .  I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Not only does Harry jump with the class that has been lost in the Hunter\Jumper world, he got this beat up, looks like crap, ugly as can be horse off a slaughter truck for 80$$$ (cheapest horse I've gotten was Arrow and he was $300 from a lumberjack)   He fattened Snowy up and look at this face, ADORABLE!!

Kinda looks like this cuties face

Happy New Year,,,

Happy New Year to all of you, and Happy Birthday to all those TB's that share the same b-day.  But there is one thing that is bothering me.

Horse slaughter is a controversial topic. The problem is with the BREEDERS!! Because of the BREEDERS breeding when there is a surplus of horses there isn't a home for all of them . This subject came along when I was reading Weanie Eventers post  (btw I love Weanie Eventers blog) about this topic. Mostly it is the TB market that is making this problem so bad. But every breeder is making this worse. Breeders need to think that if they don't want one of their horses to end up in slaughter, don't breed them, or if you do only breed maybe one every other year. Or something like that. DON'T BREED,,, BUY!!!!!!!!

On other words, how was your breaks? Did your ponies get anything awesome?? Anywhoooo here is a picture of Bop, Rhyme and Blitzen playing a few weeks ago

OHHHH and PLEASE LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS! I would love to here what you think.
